The Inner Circle 29 Main Event Result: Petmuangsri Fires On All Cylinders To Dismantle Gregor Thom

Petmuangsri Torfunfarm turned in the most complete performance of his ONE Championship career, delivering a surgical three-round dismantling of Gregor Thom in the flyweight Muay Thai main event of The Inner Circle 29.

The bout, available exclusively for subscribers at live.onefc.com, went down in Asia primetime from Bangkok’s iconic Lumpinee Stadium on Friday, September 4.

Making good on his promise to take the center of the ring against his aggressive Scottish opponent, the TDed99 standout stalked Thom with powerful punches and heavy kicks behind an imposing lead leg. Still, Thom retaliated, digging punishing calf kicks into the Thai’s lead leg to score early damage.

Refusing to be chopped down, Petmuangsri made the necessary adjustments and began checking the incoming attacks. When Thom pivoted to looping overhand rights, the Thai tied him up in the clinch, sneaking in sapping knees to the body as the round closed.

Thom continued his forward pressure into the second stanza. However, he was momentarily stunned by a lightning-fast head kick counter that nearly floored him. Petmuangsri’s confidence visibly soared from that direct hit, as he incorporated slick feints to set up blistering hooks and stabbing kick combinations.

Undeterred, Thom bit down on his mouthpiece and responded with impressive body-head punch combinations as the clash rapidly devolved into a phone-booth war.

Both warriors left everything on the line in the final three minutes. The Silk Muay Thai and Aberdeen Combat Centre athlete stuck to his punch-heavy assault while Petmuangsri slipped shots magnificently, landing counterstrikes at will.

As the waning seconds ticked away, a desperate Thom attempted to bait his foe into a firefight. However, the Thai standout wisely stuck to his game plan, circling and countering with precision until the final bell.

Ultimately, the judges rewarded that superior accuracy and volume, awarding Petmuangsri a unanimous decision win for his third straight promotional victory. As a result, the 23-year-old improved to 62-19 and took another massive step toward the life-changing US$100,000 main roster contract.
