Taiki Naito Steps In Against Nakrob Fairtex, Lito Adiwang Faces Mauro Mastromarini At ONE Fight Night 37

Two explosive matchups have been added to ONE Fight Night 37 on Prime Video, injecting even more firepower to the November 8 card in Bangkok.

After Jacob Smith‘s injury withdrawal, Japanese veteran Taiki “Silent Sniper” Naito answered the call to face Nakrob Fairtex in flyweight Muay Thai action.

In the same weight class but different sport, Lito “Thunder Kid” Adiwang moves up a division to face Argentina’s Mauro “Dinamita” Mastromarini under MMA rules.

Naito has never been one to back down from a challenge. True to his warrior spirit, the cerebral striker immediately jumped at the short-notice opportunity against fellow experienced striker Nakrob.

The 29-year-old has established himself as a consistent force in both flyweight Muay Thai and kickboxing. The #4-ranked flyweight kickboxer’s counter-striking and surgical precision — honed through battles with the division’s best — have earned him eight victories over elite competition.

After dropping his last two kickboxing bouts though, Naito made a triumphant return to Muay Thai. He delivered a statement performance against Johan “Panda Kick” Estupinan at ONE Fight Night 32 in June.

The Bell Wood Fight Team product weathered the Colombian’s aggressive attacks before uncorking a ruthless left hook that dropped Estupinan in round two. Naito’s majority decision victory handed Estupinan his first career loss, snapping a 27-bout winning streak.

Armed with that momentum, Naito aims to close in on the top five of the stacked flyweight Muay Thai division with another massive win.

Awaiting him is Nakrob, one of the division’s mainstays. The 27-year-old Thai dynamo possesses explosive power and relentless aggression that have overwhelmed top-tier opposition.

Nakrob went on a blistering 6-1 run that included ferocious finishes over “Samingpri” Tagir Khalilov, Puengluang Baanramba, and Dedduanglek TDed99, earning him the #5 spot in the flyweight Muay Thai rankings.

However, he ran into Thai powerhouse Jaosuayai Mor Krungthepthonburi at ONE Fight Night 32. The surging striker’s devastating head kick ended Nakrob’s night in just 52 seconds, bumping him from the top five.

For Nakrob, this bout represents a crucial chance to climb back into World Title contention and prove his ranking loss was merely a setback.

Before that flyweight Muay Thai showdown unfolds, “Thunder Kid” will test new waters.

After recovering from ACL surgery in 2023, Adiwang exploded back onto the scene like a man possessed. The wushu specialist announced his return with a scintillating first-round knockout of Adrian “Papua Badboy” Mattheis at ONE Friday Fights 34 last August.

He then delivered sweet revenge, avenging an earlier loss to Filipino compatriot Jeremy “The Jaguar” Miado at ONE Fight Night 16. The ONE Warrior Series standout kept rolling, defeating Danial Williams via unanimous decision at ONE Fight Night 19.

Just as the 32-year-old was building serious traction toward a ONE Strawweight MMA World Title shot, the dream stalled. Keito “Pocket Monk” Yamakita‘s suffocating grappling game ended his three-fight winning streak at ONE Fight Night 28 this past February.

Now, the Soma Fight Club representative seeks to turn a new leaf at flyweight. He brings his electrifying striking arsenal and explosive finishing ability to the division, where his tools could prove even deadlier.

Standing across from him is Mastromarini, who carries the same hunger for redemption. The Buenos Aires native’s ONE Championship debut ended when Carlo “The Bull” Bumina-ang stopped him via first-round TKO at ONE Fight Night 34 in August. The bantamweight MMA battle left “Dinamita” searching for answers.

Moving down to flyweight, the 32-year-old Argentine seeks a fresh start. Before joining the world’s largest martial arts organization, he dominated the South American circuit with 17 wins. Eight came by knockout and six by submission, showcasing the well-rounded arsenal that has made him a force.

Mastromarini will look to prove he has much more to offer in this explosive flyweight MMA clash.
