Suablack Vs. Irvine Tops Trio Of Muay Thai Battles Added To ONE Fight Night 45 On July 17

ONE Championship’s global fan base is in for a thrilling night when ONE Fight Night 45: Lessei vs. Rabah on Prime Video goes down live in U.S. primetime on Friday, July 17. A trio of high-stakes Muay Thai matchups has just been added to the lineup, guaranteeing wall-to-wall action from the iconic Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

Topping the newly announced matchups, Suablack Tor Pran49 meets Stephen “El Matador” Irvine in a flyweight Muay Thai thriller. Joining them is a bantamweight Muay Thai banger between Suakim PongSuphan PK and Dmitrii “The Silent Assassin” Kovtun, while flyweight Muay Thai standout Black Panther squares off against Sean Climaco.

Suablack is determined to make an immediate statement in his flyweight Muay Thai debut. The Thai powerhouse originally stormed into the promotion with a flawless six-fight winning streak, utilizing an explosive, knockout-hunting style to secure a coveted six-figure contract.

After experiencing split success during a brief transition into kickboxing, the 28-year-old is looking to shake off a two-fight slide that includes a tough first-round knockout loss to Hyu at ONE Fight Night 41. Now returning to his roots in “the art of eight limbs,” a heavily reinvigorated Suablack is eager to remind the world of his ferocious striking capabilities.

A similar track of dominance brings Irvine into this highly anticipated clash. The Scottish standout proved his worth in the weekly crucible of the ONE Friday Fights series, amassing a stellar 7-1 promotional record while sharpening his tools with every appearance.

Training closely alongside reigning ONE Interim Featherweight Muay Thai World Champion Nico “King of the North” Carrillo, “El Matador” unlocked a US$100,000 contract by starching Rambong Sor Therapat with a spectacular first-round finish at ONE Friday Fights 128. Irvine now aims to leave a lasting impression in his main roster debut and immediately shake up the deep flyweight ranks.

Before those flyweights take the ring, a pivotal bantamweight collision sees Suakim looking to continue his remarkable career resurgence.

A veteran of over 200 professional bouts, the three-time Lumpinee Stadium Muay Thai World Champion nearly retired during the global pandemic before completely rediscovering his passion under the ONE banner. Currently riding a seven-fight winning streak that earned him a life-changing contract, Suakim most recently delivered a surgical destruction of Vladimir Kuzmin at ONE Fight Night 42.

Standing in his way is Kovtun, a dangerous competitor currently showcasing the best form of his career. The Russian powerhouse enters this bout with back-to-back victories over Shinji Suzuki and Mohanad Battbootti. He intends to completely snap Suakim’s momentum and edge closer to a rematch with reigning ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion Rambolek Chor Ajalaboon.

Rounding out the newly added striking trio is a classic stylistic matchup between Black Panther and Climaco.

Polished within the world-class walls of Team Mehdi Zatout in Pattaya, Thailand, Black Panther found his groove after a difficult promotional debut. The Thai technician has since rattled off five consecutive victories, most recently outlasting Diego Paez via split decision in a breathtaking three-round war at ONE Fight Night 42.

He faces a highly motivated Climaco, who has split his first four appearances in the world’s largest martial arts organization. The Filipino-American striker is eager to bounce back following a tough unanimous decision loss to Akif “King” Guluzada in his last outing.

With both men desperate to separate themselves from the pack, a statement performance will determine who takes a major step forward in the division.
