Rodtang Withdraws From ONE 173, Flyweight Muay Thai World Title Fight With Nong-O To Be Rescheduled

The global fan base will have to wait just a little bit longer to see the crowning of a new ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Champion.

Former longtime divisional king Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon has pulled out of his World Title bout with Nong-O Hama at ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri in Tokyo, Japan, and informed ONE Championship’s medical staff that he felt unwell shortly after making weight for the blockbuster matchup.

For the athlete’s health and safety, Rodtang has been transported to a local hospital where he is undergoing treatment and evaluation.

In addition, Nong-O – the former eight-time ONE Bantamweight Muay Thai World Champion – failed to make weight and pass hydration testing.

As a result, the battle for the vacant ONE Flyweight Muay Thai World Championship will be rescheduled for a future event.

ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri will move forward this Sunday, November 16, with 16 bouts across MMA, Muay Thai, kickboxing, and submission grappling. This also includes four must-see World Championship showdowns.
