Road To History: How Nadaka And Numsurin Earned Their Shot At The Inaugural ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Title

There are many reasons why ONE 173: Superbon vs. Noiri is shaping up to be the greatest card in martial arts history. One of them is the ascent to the throne of the promotion’s first atomweight Muay Thai king.

On Sunday, November 16, Japanese striking royalty Nadaka Yoshinari meets Thai spoiler Numsurin Chor Ketwina for the inaugural ONE Atomweight Muay Thai World Title at Tokyo’s Ariake Arena.

It’s one of seven ONE World Title bouts announced for the card, further cementing the blockbuster event as a night for the ages.

Nadaka’s Surge To A Home-Soil Coronation Shot

A 10-time Muay Thai World Champion, Nadaka arrived in ONE with elite credentials from Rajadamnern and Lumpinee Stadiums, plus WBC and WMC honors — and he immediately fought like a pound-for-pound force.

He debuted at ONE 172: Rodtang vs. Takeru in March and stopped Rak Erawan in round three with a laser-straight left, electrifying Saitama Super Arena with his speed and accuracy.

Through that bout, Nadaka flashed his technical brilliance – lightning-fast strikes, deft timing, and a sneaky sweep that’s hard to read and harder to stop.

After scoring another stoppage win in May, the 24-year-old signed an exclusive deal with the world’s largest martial arts organization.

Riding that momentum, he outclassed Banluelok Sitwatcharachai by a unanimous decision at ONE Friday Fights 114 in June, controlling three high-tempo rounds.

The Japanese phenom fought like a craftsman, shaping every exchange with purpose. He teased with feints, stitched punches into kicks, and used his teep like a brushstroke, painting rhythm and control into every round.

In August, the Eiwa Sports Gym ace continued to showcase his speed and striking aura in the “art of eight limbs.”

He dropped Hamada “Black Panther” Azmani twice and sealed a TKO at 0:15 of round three at ONE Friday Fights 122, stretching his unbeaten run in ONE and pushing his overall win streak to 39 heading into Tokyo.

The run has sparked debate among fans about where Nadaka belongs on the pound-for-pound list of elite strikers.

Now, in front of a home crowd, the 24-year-old phenomenon is fighting for gold while chasing a statement as the sport’s next brightest star.

Numsurin’s Quiet Climb To Reach Edge Of The Throne

Across the ring stands a very different kind of threat.

Numsurin, 6-0 in ONE, is a battle-tested veteran from Tded99 with over 100 wins to his name. He has been building momentum by taking hard fights often and winning them.

His ONE Championship story started in March 2023, when he flattened Khunsuknoi Boomdeksean with a crunching left in round one at ONE Friday Fights 8.

He stayed busy and kept stacking results, posting unanimous decision wins over Yodsila Chor Haapayak, Chokdee Maxjandee, and Sunday Boomdeksean – the kind of steady dominance that turned him into a surging name.

In June 2025, Numsurin authored a brutal body-shot KO in the second round against Paeyim Sor Boonmeerit at ONE Friday Fights 113.

Two months later at ONE Friday Fights 122, he met Songchainoi Kiatsongrit and produced the moment that changed his trajectory.

He dropped his fellow Thai warrior with a counter left hook in the second round and went on to snap the star’s nine-fight unbeaten run by majority decision.

That win turned a streak into a signature result and confirmed that his pressure game comes with composure and timing.

That breakout stretch earned him a US$100,000 main-roster contract and, with it, a fast track to this inaugural World Title shot.

All of his ONE bouts have been at catchweight just above the atomweight limit. Now, he aims to make his first cut with a chance to become the division’s first ever king.
