ONE Friday Fights 175 Co-Main Event Result: Mahesuan Drops Bakjo Three Times For Third Straight Finish

Following the conclusion of The Inner Circle 35, ONE Championship’s blockbuster triple-header weekend continued with ONE Friday Fights 175, broadcasting live in Asia primetime on Friday, October 16, from Bangkok’s historic Lumpinee Stadium.

Surging Thai strikers Mahesuan Aekmuangnon and Bakjo Sitkhunma aggressively clashed in the atomweight Muay Thai co-main event, but it was the former who ultimately extended his impressive winning streak with a statement-making second-round technical knockout.

The opening round began as a highly measured affair. Mahesuan patiently gauged the distance with heavy leg kicks, while Bakjo checked them and sniped back with piercing jabs and head kicks that momentarily forced his compatriot to retreat. After properly finding his range, the Singpatong product seamlessly switched up his attack, utilizing body punches to pry open Bakjo’s tight guard before landing a sharp uppercut to close the opening frame in his favor.

After a testy first three minutes, Bakjo looked to exploit his natural length with stinging straights from the outside in the second canto. However, Mahesuan masterfully cut off the angles, cornering his foe near the ropes and unleashing a blistering two-punch combination that dropped Bakjo to the canvas for the very first time.

Sensing a potential finish, Mahesuan ruthlessly swarmed with short elbows and more big punches. A pinpoint shot to the floating rib dropped Bakjo a second time, and a textbook change of levels delivered yet another debilitating body blow that put him down for good, officially forcing the referee stoppage at 2:05 of round two.

The spectacular finish marked Mahesuan’s third consecutive stoppage victory, pushing his impressive professional record to 82-21 and keeping his dreams of securing a life-changing US$100,000 ONE Championship contract very much alive.
