Johan Ghazali And Diego Paez Rematch Set For The Inner Circle 35 on October 16

Revenge is on the table when Johan “Jojo” Ghazali and Diego Paez step back on martial arts’ grandest stage to finish what they started, this time in a brand-new weight class.

The two strikers collide in a bantamweight Muay Thai clash at The Inner Circle 35 inside the legendary Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand. The card will stream live in Asia primetime exclusively for subscribers at live.onefc.com on Friday, October 16.

Their first meeting at ONE Fight Night 32 in June last year delivered an electric nine-minute war that went down to the wire inside Lumpinee Stadium.

Ghazali came forward relentlessly across three rounds, walking the Classic Fight Team affiliate down behind heavy combinations and a granite chin. The Colombian-American, meanwhile, matched that pressure with slick, unpredictable footwork and cleaner counters, including a series of spinning strikes that repeatedly found their mark. 

Paez’s precision down the stretch proved the deciding factor and earned him a split-decision victory – his maiden triumph in the world’s largest martial arts organization.

Ghazali bounced back from that narrow defeat with two brilliant victories against Zakaria El Jamari and Ye Yint Naung. However, two setbacks to Shimon Yoshinari and Ramadan “The Scorpion” Ondash earlier this year have him fired up more than ever.

Now, the 19-year-old aims to snap his skid in a new division. His explosive finishing power set the tone for his entire promotional run long before that rough patch, a run that included five knockout wins and a US$100,000 main roster contract. 

That same power now travels with him up a weight class. With a bigger frame to work behind, the Rentap Muaythai Gym and Superbon Training Camp athlete could carry even heavier hands into the pocket than the version of himself Paez faced the first time around.

That extra pop pairs with a mentality that hasn’t changed. Ghazali has never backed down from trading in close quarters, and his 27-11 record reflects a career built on high-risk, high-reward action rather than a cautious, point-scoring approach.

Paez will look to test that theory when the two renew their rivalry at The Inner Circle 35. The Colombian-American also steps up to bantamweight for the first time, looking to bounce back from a split-decision loss to Black Panther at ONE Fight Night 42 this past April.

The 32-year-old has built his career on precision, timing, and creativity rather than brute force, a skill set that proved decisive the first time these two shared the ring.
