‘I’ve Changed’ – Yodlekpet Ready To Showcase His Evolution Against Pompet At ONE Friday Fights 120

Yodlekpet “The Destroyer” Or Atchariya has endured an emotional rollercoaster through his ups and downs at the ONE Friday Fights circuit.

Now riding the momentum of his spectacular breakthrough win, the Thai veteran is preparing for what could be his most important fight yet.

The 30-year-old striker will step into the legendary confines of Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, for ONE Friday Fights 120 on August 15, live in Asia primetime.

Standing across from him will be his fellow Thai Pompet Panthonggym, a dangerous finisher who’s also had a similar up-and-down career path.

For Yodlekpet, this fight represents more than another opportunity to showcase his skills. It’s a chance to prove that the inconsistency issues that once plagued him are now a thing of the past.

The four-time Muay Thai World Champion said:

“Before the Donking fight, I was under a lot of pressure because my last two fights didn’t go as I’d hoped — I got knocked out and then lost by decision in a fight that wasn’t exciting for the fans. That day, I was so hungry for a win. I was determined that I couldn’t afford to lose again.

“That last win was so important for me. It finally broke through all the pressure I was carrying and brought back my hunger for victory.”

That pressure had been mounting after back-to-back setbacks against Jaosuayai Mor Krungthepthonburi and Shimon Yoshinari.

In a talent-laden flyweight Muay Thai division where one stumble can derail career ambitions, Yodlekpet understood the stakes when he faced Donking Yotharakmuaythai at ONE Friday Fights 113.

He got his groove back and notched a ferocious first-round knockout that reminded everyone why he earned the nickname “The Destroyer.”

Now facing Pompet, Yodlekpet sees an opportunity to build on that momentum against another formidable adversary. Despite already having 132 professional bouts to his name, the southpaw believes his best days are still ahead of him.

He explained:

“In this fight, I want to show everyone that I’m not the same old Yodlekpet — the slow, durable guy. I’ve changed.

“Pompet is a tough job for me. To be honest, he’s even better than Donking. But I never think any of my opponents are easy. In ONE Lumpinee [ONE Friday Fights], everyone is dangerous, and you can’t underestimate anyone, not even a little.”

Yodlekpet Plans To Turn Up The Aggression Against Pompet

Yodlekpet knows he must tread lightly to navigate around Pompet’s explosive finishing ability. Pompet has been building a reputation as one of the circuit’s most dangerous punchers.

After studying his opponent’s most recent performances, the Thai veteran isn’t underestimating the challenge ahead. Yodlekpet offered:

“Pompet is a fighter with very dangerous punches and kicks. He’s knocked a lot of guys down with his hands. Lately, I can’t really see any weaknesses in him. He’s improved so much. The more he fights, the more confident he gets, and his body is back in great shape. He’s amazing.”

“Personally, I think this fight is a guaranteed slugfest because we both have a similar fighting style. We both love to trade, to clash, to go forward. I don’t know how it’s going to end.”

While both fighters possess the forward-pressing aggression that creates instant classics, “The Destroyer” plans to showcase his evolution.

The Sor Sommai representative is determined to prove that age and experience haven’t slowed him down — they’ve only sharpened his tools.

He declared:

“In this fight, you’re going to see me faster. No more slow, plodding style like before.”

For Yodlekpet, the ultimate prize remains that life-changing six-figure contract to join ONE Championship’s elite main roster.

After years of grinding through the developmental circuit, he knows this could be the performance that finally opens that door.

Yodlekpet said:

“This win will mean so much to me. I’m hoping to finally have a consistent run, not just winning and losing back and forth and having to start over. I want ONE contract like everyone else. It’s exhausting and I’ve wasted a lot of time to start over again. I want to achieve my dream as soon as possible.”
