‘I’m Ready To Attack In Every Way’ – Tengnueng Vows To Blitz Tun Min Aung At ONE Friday Fights 129

Thai striking star Tengnueng Fairtex is ready to fight fire with fire when he meets explosive Myanmar firecracker Tun “The Phenom” Min Aung at ONE Friday Fights 129.

Their 165-pound Muay Thai showdown will headline Friday’s blockbuster event in Bangkok, Thailand, which will broadcast live in Asia primetime on October 17.

Tengnueng brings the wisdom of a veteran who has seen every storm imaginable. With nearly two decades of experience and over 100 bouts, the cunning southpaw has faced the best and survived the worst in his career.

But even the most battle-tested warrior will recognize real danger when it stands across from him in the ring.

Tun Min Aung is no ordinary 19-year-old. The Lethwei specialist has compiled an eye-popping 45-2-7 record as a vicious headhunter who relentlessly stalks his opponents until they crumble.

However, Tengnueng assures fans that he has sharpened the necessary weapons to dismantle his younger foe.

The Fairtex Training Center affiliate said:

“For this fight, I’m facing Tun Min Aung, an opponent who is slightly taller than me. The age gap is not a problem because I’ve prepared myself to be in peak condition, too.

“The most dangerous point about him is his punches. He’s a southpaw like me, so I have to be very careful.”

Tun Min Aung’s devastating power was on full display at ONE Friday Fights 110, where he secured a second-round TKO over Chatpet Lampang Sports School. He also brutalized Tuan “Timebomb” Quoc Tran with a third-round stoppage.

Yet Tengnueng believes in his own destructive capabilities. Despite being dropped twice, he staged an incredible come-from-behind win over Germain Kpoghomou at ONE Friday Fights 108, finishing the Frenchman in the second round.

With two knockout artists colliding, Tengnueng knows this battle will be decided by whoever lands clean first:

“We will have to measure the power of our weapons in the ring. I’m confident that my punches are just as heavy. If either of us makes a mistake and gets a clean hit, one will go down first.”

Tengnueng won’t rely on brawn and brute force alone. The crafty veteran studied Tun Min Aung’s shocking knockout loss to Abdelali “Black Diamond” Zahidi at ONE Friday Fights 88 and plans to capitalize on the opportunity when it presents itself.

He offered:

“I’ve studied and seen that he made a mistake once and was caught with a head kick, which led to a knockout loss. If he is careless again, I might be able to exploit that spot.

“My fighting style will remain the same, I will go toe-to-toe with my opponent, even if it hurts, and I’m ready to attack in every way.”

Tengnueng Vows To Unleash His Best Form Yet

Tengnueng Fairtex is fueled by redemption after his knockout loss to towering Maksim Bakhtin at ONE Friday Fights 121 this past August. That crushing setback forced the Thai to make a critical decision about his fighting future.

Lightweight proved too big for his frame. Fighting at a constant size and reach disadvantage neutralized his offensive arsenal.

This showdown with Tun Min Aung represents a fresh start at 165 pounds. Tengnueng wants to drop down to featherweight eventually, but he’s taking the smart approach by cutting weight gradually to find his optimal form:

“I decided to gradually cut my weight down to 165 pounds for this fight because fighting didn’t feel as fun when I was too [heavy]. I was at a disadvantage in terms of size, height, and impact force.

“This lighter division makes my body leaner and will help increase my speed. Previously, when fighting in the heavier division, I had too much body fat.”

Because of this, Tengnueng feels completely rejuvenated. His body is sharp, fast, and powerful in absolute prime condition.

With the adjustments he’s made, the veteran striker is confident he can unleash his true potential and return to his winning ways.

More importantly, he can reignite his chase for the six-figure contract to join ONE Championship’s main roster.

The 33-year-old concluded:

“Right now, my confidence is 100 percent. My body is in perfect shape, and I am ready to secure the win again. I want the fans to wait and watch. I will be absolutely fierce in the ring again.”
