‘I Intend To Close The Game’ – Sornsueknoi Ready To Drown Rambong With Pressure At The Inner Circle 18

Three consecutive stoppage victories originally catapulted Sornsueknoi FA Group into the spotlight, but a string of momentum-halting injuries and back-to-back losses forced the Thai standout to search for his vintage form.

Now, freshly returned to the win column, the 31-year-old knockout artist is ready to unleash his trademark power against Rambong Sor Therapat.

The two heavy hitters will collide in a high-stakes flyweight Muay Thai showdown at The Inner Circle 18 on Friday, June 12, streaming live exclusively in Asia primetime on live.onefc.com from Bangkok’s legendary Lumpinee Stadium.

This co-main event arrives at an absolutely pivotal juncture for both men.

While Rambong enters riding a solid two-bout winning streak, Sornsueknoi is eager to build upon the massive momentum he regained by scoring a second-round TKO over Nuapet Torfunfarm this past April.

The FA Group affiliate explained:

“In the fight where I lost to Khunpon Aekmuangnon, I couldn’t showcase 100 percent of my skills. In many moments, I knew what to do but my body couldn’t deliver because I had been away from the ring for a long time due to an injury.

“But in my last fight, my physical condition was back to 100 percent fitness again, which brought my form back to where it used to be. I was able to unleash every weapon according to the game plan until I could defeat Nuapet.”

More than anything, that emphatic finish allowed Sornsueknoi to finally breathe again.

Having suffered consecutive defeats for the first time in his promotional tenure, the seasoned veteran fully understood that another setback would severely derail his ultimate goals on the global stage.

He said:

“Before entering the ring, I admit I felt a lot of pressure because if I lost three fights in a row, my chances of succeeding in this promotion would probably be difficult.

“Once I secured the victory, it felt like a massive weight was lifted off my shoulders.”

That crucial victory perfectly showcased the aggressive qualities that originally fueled Sornsueknoi’s meteoric rise. His blazing hand speed produced a knockdown in round two, and he ruthlessly closed the show moments later.

Yet, despite the spectacular result, the FA Group representative believes there is still plenty of room for technical improvement. While thrilled to see his devastating timing return, he spent this entire training camp meticulously sharpening his footwork to close the distance more efficiently.

He added:

“I still saw flaws in myself, especially my approach which is still too slow. Therefore, I have come back to seriously work on and develop my footwork to move faster for this upcoming fight.”

Sornsueknoi Plans To Push Rambong Out Of His Comfort Zone

When Sornsueknoi FA Group steps into the ring against Rambong Sor Therapat at The Inner Circle 18, he expects the outcome to be entirely determined by which man successfully dictates the pace.

Rambong’s trademark aggression has fueled his recent success, but Sornsueknoi firmly believes that exact same forward pressure becomes a massive liability if the fight is forced onto his own terms.

He explained:

“Rambong is a forward-moving aggressive fighter who likes to crash in. He has punches as his dangerous weapon and has knocked out many opponents.

“His weakness is that he only fights well when he is the one moving forward. If he is forced or pressured to back up, his danger disappears immediately, and he becomes a fighter who just waits to get hit.”

That precise tactical assessment has shaped Sornsueknoi’s entire master plan for Friday night.

Rather than allowing Rambong to comfortably dictate the tempo, he intends to force his fellow countryman onto the back foot, turning the dangerous pressure fighter into the one being suffocated.

He said:

“For this fight, I intend to be the one moving forward to grind him down and pressure Rambong to back up as much as possible in order to cut down the distance of his punches. From there, I will go in to attack him with the inside weapons I’ve prepared, including short hooks, elbows, and knees, which are already my strengths.”

A definitive victory would push Sornsueknoi one massive step closer to securing a life-changing ONE Championship main-roster contract, all while restoring his gym’s elite reputation.

If the chaotic action unfolds exactly according to his calculated blueprint, he fully expects to leave Lumpinee Stadium with another highlight-reel finish on his record.

He concluded:

“In this fight, I’m ready to march straight at Rambong from the very first second. I intend to close the game for my second consecutive finish.

“Besides restoring our camp’s reputation, it will also show that I’m returning to the same form as when I used to finish three opponents in a row in this promotion.”
