The world’s largest martial arts organization returns to Lumpinee Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand, this Friday, June 12, and fans tuning in live in Asia primetime can expect a compelling night of action.
ONE Friday Fights 158 will feature nine bouts across Muay Thai and kickboxing, and nearly every athlete on the card will be hunting for a coveted US$100,000 contract and a spot on ONE Championship’s global roster.
In the main event, dangerous knockout artist Maisangkum Sor Yingcharoenkarnchang takes on surging Laotian pressure fighter Petnamkhong Sor Maneekhot in a strawweight Muay Thai showdown.
The 25-year-old Maisangkum grew up in a hill tribe in poverty, with his father introducing him to Muay Thai at a young age. He has channeled those humble beginnings into a career built on explosive left hook power and a relentless will to win. Heading into Friday off a recent victory, he aims to put on a performance that pushes him firmly into contract contention and earn his 55th career win.
Across from him, Petnamkhong brings a two-bout winning streak and a rapidly growing reputation to the ring. The Laotian started with temple fights in Vientiane at age 14 before his talent caught the attention of a coach who sent him to Thailand to develop his craft. The 22-year-old has since built a massive following in Laos, and he heads into Friday knowing that ONE’s global platform gives him the chance to make his entire country proud.
In the co-main event, Russian veteran Mamuka Usubyan faces contracted ONE athlete Enzo Kartoum in a featherweight kickboxing contest.
The 32-year-old Usubyan is a patient, cerebral technician who uses sharp footwork and a stiff jab to dismantle opponents from the outside. Since making his debut in 2017, the Armenia-born striker has compiled a 23-2 record, which includes a victory over former ONE Interim Featherweight Muay Thai World Title challenger Shadow Mavinn. Now riding a six-bout winning streak, which includes three triumphs at ONE Friday Fights, Usubyan returns with a life-changing contract in his sights.
Standing across from him will be Kartoum. The 25-year-old heavy-handed knockout artist known as “The White Wolf” has been tearing through the competition, compiling a 16-3 record with eight consecutive victories, five of which have come by stoppage. The ISKA Super-Welterweight World Champion, who trains out of Team Mehdi Zatout, will make his ONE debut on Friday, and the French-Algerian fighter comes with the tools and momentum to announce his arrival in a big way.
In other action, Kyaw Swar Win takes on Slatan Jitmuangnon in bantamweight Muay Thai, while Petphupa Aekpujean squares off against Wuttidet Torfunfarm in a flyweight Muay Thai tilt. Tepkamin ThanapolResort faces YodUdon K Tongtalingchan in atomweight Muay Thai, and Petsuphan Lookmuangpetch meets Rawee Puanpratuphee in flyweight Muay Thai action.
Mexico’s Ricardo Sanchez battles Yanis Ben Alaya – the nephew of former ONE Bantamweight Kickboxing World Title challenger Mehdi Zatout – in strawweight Muay Thai, Argentina’s Sheila Barrios faces Thailand’s Ployjan Sitnayokdam in atomweight Muay Thai, and Chen Jiayi meets Kazuteru Yamazaki in flyweight kickboxing to round out the card.
