3 Burning Questions Ahead Of The Inner Circle 37 And ONE Fight Night 49

A ONE World Title, a family feud, and 14 bouts across four combat sports are headed for Bangkok’s Lumpinee Stadium this week, and the questions are already stacking up.

The Inner Circle 37, airing exclusively for members at live.onefc.com, kicks off a triple-header weekend alongside ONE Friday Fights 177 on Friday, November 6. The weekend then closes with ONE Fight Night 49: Gabriel vs. Magomedov on Prime Video in U.S. primetime.

Lumpinee’s first act brings four high-octane Muay Thai bouts and a guaranteed barnburner of a World Title main event, while the closer delivers nine equally entertaining battles across MMA, Muay Thai, kickboxing, and submission grappling.

Put the two cards together, and you get a division’s future, a handful of grudges, and a scoreboard full of zeros.

Here are three burning questions that will shape the weekend.

Which Lightweight Will Own The Division’s Future?

No athlete in ONE history has won more fights, finished more opponents, or ended more bouts in round one than Christian “The Warrior” Lee, and the lightweight division is still measuring itself against him.

The 28-year-old became the youngest male MMA World Champion in ONE history in 2019, lost the lightweight belt once, took it back in a rematch, and added the welterweight crown in 2022.

Now comes a challenger who has never lost in ONE, has already beaten Lee’s younger brother, and has two-sport glory waiting at the end of it. Reigning ONE Welterweight Submission Grappling World Champion Tye Ruotolo has made the leap to MMA look easy.

He choked out Adrian “The Phenom” Lee in his debut in the all-encompassing sport in September 2025, handing Christian’s younger brother the first loss of his professional career, then repeated the feat against Shozo Isojima at ONE 173, with a US$50,000 performance bonus for each rear-naked choke.

Hours later, inside the same building, two more lightweights fight for a seat at the table. Lucas Gabriel, unbeaten in six ONE appearances, returns to the global stage to build on his hard-fought triumph over former divisional king Ok Rae Yoon at ONE Fight Night 44 this past June.

Looking to halt his momentum is undefeated promotional newcomer Magomed “Muhammad” Magomedov. Win, and a shot at the crown could be next.

Hours earlier, either Lee will have defended his reign, or Ruotolo will have started a new one, and the road to the 26 pounds of gold will run straight through whoever is standing at the end of it.

Four lightweights, two main events, and one pecking order that could look completely different by the end of the weekend.

Can Any Of These Sequels Deliver The Perfect Encore?

Some fights earn a second chapter, and Bangkok is serving up three, each with a fresh twist.

The Inner Circle 37 co-main event brings back a bantamweight Muay Thai thriller from February 2024. Yodphupa Petkiatpet fought his way back into the contest in the middle round, but Komawut FA Group’s counters in the final three minutes earned him a split decision and the narrowest of edges in the main event of ONE Friday Fights 50.

Both men arrive off victories at The Inner Circle 27 in August, with Komawut edging Kyaw Swar Win to snap a five-fight skid and Yodphupa beating Saw Min Min by unanimous decision.

Over at ONE Fight Night 49, a familiar matchup arrives with a brand-new rulebook. In their 2023 Muay Thai meeting at ONE Friday Fights 37, three-time Rajadamnern Stadium Muay Thai World Champion Kongthoranee Sor Sommai battered Taiki “Silent Sniper” Naito’s body and arms with his left leg, then cracked the Japanese veteran with a stinging lead left on the way to a unanimous decision.

This time they meet in flyweight kickboxing. The Thai arrives fresh off a unanimous decision win over Yuan Pengjie in his kickboxing debut, while Naito comes in on a three-fight winning streak that includes a victory over the previously unbeaten Hyu “Mister Pepper” Iwata at ONE SAMURAI 1.

The third sequel pairs two battle-tested strikers with plenty to prove. At ONE Fight Night 43 in May, Nontachai Jitmuangnon outworked Felipe “Demolition Man” Lobo with leg kicks and clinch knees, then survived a late body-hook rally to take a unanimous decision.

However, both men are eager to return to the winner’s column in this bantamweight Muay Thai rematch after tough tests since, Lobo falling short to Dmitrii “The Silent Assassin” Kovtun in July and Nontachai against Kiamran Nabati at The Inner Circle 31.

Who Keeps Their Zero?

Nine fighters across both cards are carrying unblemished marks into Bangkok, but not all of them will leave with it intact.

Six have never lost a professional fight. Magomedov is 15-0 with five straight finishes, and Nazareth “The Northstar” Lalthazuala is 8-0, a run that earned him a US$100,000 main roster contract with a first-round TKO at ONE Friday Fights 157 in June.

Magdalena “The Powerpuff Girl” Czaban is 5-0 with two knockouts and two submissions, Kalandar Tabarov is 5-0 with an 80 percent finishing rate, and Ilmadi Israilov is 9-0 with six wins by submission. Rounding out the group is WBC Muay Thai World Champion Titus Proctor, who is at an impressive 22-0 in his career.

Three more are perfect in ONE. Ruotolo has never lost in the promotion, Gabriel is unbeaten in six ONE appearances, and Lee “The Flash” Seung Cheol is 6-0 in ONE.

The schedule makes sure not every mark survives, however. Tabarov and Israilov – both making their ONE debut – meet in bantamweight MMA, so one spotless career ends on the spot. Lalthazuala and Lee Seung Cheol collide in strawweight MMA, where either Lalthazuala’s career record or Lee’s promotional record has to give. And the main event of ONE Fight Night 49 matches Gabriel’s unbeaten ONE run against Magomedov’s spotless career.

The remaining three face opponents with losses on their records, though that is no promise of an easy night. Czaban meets Vick Souza, Proctor takes on the heavy-handed Maciej Karpinski, and Ruotolo faces Christian Lee, a proven finisher with 17 stoppages in 18 wins.

Six of the nine can survive at most, and The Inner Circle 37 and ONE Fight Night 49 will show exactly who does.
